Never Forget

Eight years has gone by quickly, I can remember this day vividly in my mind. Jim was on shift, Jax and I were still sleeping. The phone rang....... "Hannah, you have to turn on the TV".... From that moment on I could not leave the living room, I sat on the floor sobbing the rest of the day and into the night.

These are moments that we never forget, not just because I am married to a fireman and I understand the danger and significance of his job, but because I could not imagine being that wife, whose husband was also on shift September 11th, in NYC.

While other's ran (can you even imagine the sheer panic?) from the buildings, the firemen ran into the buildings, most to never return. For the sake of the call....

God bless the families who are undoubtedly grieving tomorrow, God bless those firefighters haunted by the memories, yet continue on. We surely will never forget.

  1. Thank you for your thoughtful words. I enjoy your blog and am grateful I get to see what you and Esther and the rest of the family are up to. Thanks to Jim for doing one of those jobs that take a lot of sacrifice. Hope your family is doing well. Your kiddos are adorable and growing so fast.
